Canaan was the anime that had so much potential when the first episode rolled out last year with its action packed sequences that blew my socks off. Sadly, everything went downhill from thereon. It is quite fitting (and depressing) that Good Smile Company followed suit and produced a figure with the same qualities as the show itself. A figure that had so much potential, but the end product was never meant to be. Continue reading ‘GSC Canaan’

Good Smile Company’s Black Rock Shooter — the one that almost got away. I had her on my pre-order list, dropped her, picked her up again, dropped her again, and picked her up once more. One of the reason she was dropped twice is the fact that she was delayed one too many times. The only reason that I picked her up (again) many times after is because she is one sexy figure. Then, of course, I learned later that she’s a reincarnation of Hatsune Miku, which might have played a big role subliminally. Continue reading ‘GSC Black Rock Shooter’

Good Smile Company was one of the first figure manufacturer to capitalize on the popularity of Hatsune Miku, the mascot for Yamaha’s “Vocaloid” music synthesizer program. Many companies followed suit soon after, but Good Smile Company’s Hatsune Miku remains as one of the most popular figure to be released for the Vocaloid diva — seeing two re-releases in 2009. Their original release captured Miku’s charm without the robotic voice. It couldn’t get any better. Could it?
It did when GSC teased us with this Hatsune Miku commercial. Soon after, they announced that she’ll be available for sale as a WonFes/Good Smile online shop exclusive. Her price, surprisingly, is ¥1,000 lower than the regular release. Lovely! Continue reading ‘GSC Hatsune Miku CM Ver.’

Good Smile Company has never failed to impress me with their beautiful figures in my 13 months of figure collecting. They have consistently brought to life some of the best looking figures on the market, always striving to bring us the complete package. Unfortunately, their Saber Lily -Distant Avalon- just falls short of being the complete package. Continue reading ‘GSC Saber Lily -Distant Avalon-’

More photos of the set after the break. Continue reading ‘THE iDOLM@STER Nendoroid Petit’
